Airwallex is the payment-services provider behind Avrix Wallet. It offers more than one kind of connected account. Avrix only uses Full Connected Accounts. That is why a company can join Avrix only where a Full account is available.

Who needs this#
Finance and operations readers who need to understand why Wallet exists in some countries and not others, and what “Full” means compared with a ledger-only account.
Two Airwallex account types#
Airwallex connected accounts are not all the same.
Full Connected Account#
A Full Connected Account is the account type Avrix uses. After verification, the company can have a working Wallet: hold balances, add funds where a deposit route exists, pay or receive supported partner invoices, convert currencies when offered, and withdraw to a payout account when that capability is enabled.
“Full” means the company can own and use the Wallet. It does not mean every currency, deposit country, or withdrawal route is available. Those still depend on the entity, account capability, and transfer path serving the company. Confirm the live options in Finance → Wallet.
Ledger-only account#
A ledger-only account can keep a balance record at Airwallex. It does not give the company a partner-owned Wallet and does not support withdrawals.
Avrix does not offer ledger-only onboarding. If a country is ledger-only at Airwallex, the company cannot complete Avrix verification or use Wallet today, even if Airwallex lists that country for a more limited product.
How this relates to Avrix availability#
Avrix company verification and Wallet both require a Full Connected Account. The countries on Supported countries are the Full markets Avrix currently offers.
When Avrix adds a country, it is because a Full Connected Account can be offered there. We will expand that list over time. Do not treat an Airwallex marketing page or a ledger-only market as Avrix availability.
